How to use
- Upload an image from your device.
- Click anywhere on the picture to sample the color at that point.
- Copy the HEX or RGB value shown, or remove the image to start with another one.
Image Color Picker reads the color of the exact pixel you click. The picture is drawn onto a canvas, and the tool reads that pixel's red, green and blue values. It shows them as a HEX code such as #4F46E5 and as an rgb() string such as rgb(79, 70, 229), each with its own copy button.
To fit the page, the image is scaled to a maximum of 600 pixels wide, or less on narrow screens, and the color is read from this displayed copy. For flat colors this makes no difference. On photographs with fine detail or noise, a single pixel can differ slightly from its neighbors, so click a few nearby points if you need a representative color for an area.
The tool picks a single point and does not build a palette automatically. It can read the colors in files your browser can display, such as JPG, PNG and WebP.
The image is read from your device and drawn in your browser. It is not uploaded to a server.
FAQ
What formats does it give me?
HEX and RGB. Each has a copy button.
Does it extract a whole palette?
No. It picks the color of the pixel you click, one at a time.
Why is the color not exactly what I expected?
The image is displayed at reduced size and photos contain noise, so nearby pixels can differ. Click a few spots to compare.
Which images can I use?
Image files your browser can display, such as JPG, PNG and WebP.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It stays in your browser.
