Image Cropper: Rectangle and Circle Crop

Crop a photo to any rectangle, or cut a circular avatar with zoom and rotation controls.

Runs in your browser — files never leave this device.

How to use

  1. Load an image by dropping it on the page or using the file picker.
  2. For a rectangle, open Crop, click Enable Crop, drag out the area on the image and click Apply Crop. For a circle, open Circular Crop and move the image under the round frame.
  3. For a circle, use the zoom and rotate sliders, click Crop & Preview, then download the PNG.

The tool has two ways to crop. The Crop section lets you draw a selection by dragging on the image. When you click Apply Crop, only the selected area is kept, and you can undo it from the top bar if you are not happy with the result. Cancel leaves the image unchanged.

The Circular Crop section is meant for profile pictures and round avatars. The frame is always a one-to-one circle. You can drag the image under it, zoom between 1x and 3x, and rotate it from 0 to 360 degrees. Crop & Preview renders the circle to a PNG, so the area outside the circle is transparent, and a preview is shown before you download the file as circular-crop.png.

If you want a square result instead, use the rectangle crop and drag out a square selection yourself. The rectangle crop does not offer ready-made ratio presets, so you set the shape by hand.

Both modes work in your browser by drawing the chosen area onto a canvas. The image is not uploaded to a server to be cropped.

FAQ

Is the circular crop transparent?

Yes. The circular result is saved as a PNG where everything outside the circle is transparent.

Can I undo a crop?

Yes. Each applied crop is added to the history, and the undo and redo buttons in the top bar step through it.

Can I rotate the image while cropping?

In Circular Crop you can rotate from 0 to 360 degrees with a slider. For plain 90 degree turns on the whole image, use the Rotate and Flip tool.

Can I choose a fixed aspect ratio such as 16:9?

The rectangle crop in this tool is free-form, so you drag the shape you want. The circle is always 1:1.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. Cropping is done in your browser and the image stays on your device.
