Image Converter: JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC

Convert one image or a whole batch to JPG, PNG or WebP, with an adjustable quality setting.

Runs in your browser — files never leave this device.

How to use

  1. Drop your images onto the page or choose them with the file picker. Several files can be added at once.
  2. In the Export section, pick the output format (WebP, JPG or PNG) and, for WebP and JPG, set the quality with the slider.
  3. Check the estimated file size, then click Download for the current image, or Download All (ZIP) when you loaded more than one file.

The converter takes the image you load, redraws it on a canvas inside your browser and re-encodes it in the format you choose. Output formats are WebP, JPG and PNG. For input, it accepts the image types your browser can open, and it also accepts HEIC files, which are decoded with a HEIC library that runs on the page.

Quality is a slider from 10% to 100% in steps of 5. It applies to WebP and JPG. PNG is lossless, so the slider is hidden when PNG is selected. While you change the settings, the tool shows an estimated output size so you can compare formats before saving anything.

When you convert a picture with transparency to JPG, the transparent areas are filled with white, because JPG has no alpha channel. WebP and PNG keep transparency.

If you load several images, they appear as thumbnails under the editor. Click a thumbnail to switch between files. Download All (ZIP) converts every file with the current format and quality settings and packs the results into a single archive named images.zip.

The conversion runs in your browser using the canvas API. Your images are not uploaded to a server for conversion.

FAQ

Which formats can I convert to?

You can export to WebP, JPG or PNG. These are the three formats offered in the Export section.

Can it open HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Yes. Files with the .heic extension are accepted and converted to the format you choose.

Why did the background turn white when I made a JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with white. Choose PNG or WebP if you need to keep transparency.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser, and the image data is not sent to a server.

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Add several files, set the format and quality, and use Download All (ZIP) to get them in one archive.
