Rotate and Flip Image Online

How to use

  1. Add your image by dropping it on the page or choosing a file.
  2. Open Rotate and Flip, then click Rotate Left, Rotate Right, Flip H or Flip V. You can click more than once to combine them.
  3. Use undo if you went too far, then download the image.

This tool has four buttons. Rotate Left and Rotate Right turn the image by 90 degrees in the direction named. Flip H mirrors the image from left to right, and Flip V mirrors it from top to bottom. Each click is applied immediately and the preview and the pixel dimensions shown in the top bar are updated. After a 90 degree rotation, the width and height swap.

Because every action is added to a history, undo and redo in the top bar let you step backwards and forwards. That makes it easy to try a mirrored version and return to the original. Rotating four times in the same direction brings the image back to its original orientation.

Photos taken on a phone sometimes open sideways in programs that ignore the orientation setting. Rotating the picture here and saving it again gives you a file that is turned the way you want.

If you load several images, they appear as thumbnails under the editor. Select a thumbnail to work on that file, and use Download All (ZIP) to pack all of them into one archive.

The image is redrawn on a canvas in your browser. It is not uploaded to a server.

FAQ

Can I rotate by an angle other than 90 degrees?

The Rotate and Flip buttons turn the image in 90 degree steps. Free-angle rotation from 0 to 360 degrees is available in the circular crop tool, which also crops the image to a circle.

What is the difference between Flip H and Flip V?

Flip H mirrors the image left to right, like a reflection in a vertical mirror. Flip V mirrors it top to bottom.

Can I undo a rotation?

Yes. Undo and redo buttons in the top bar step through every change you applied.

Can I rotate many images at once?

You can load several files and switch between them to edit each one, then download them together as a ZIP.

Does my image leave my device?

No. Rotating and flipping happen in your browser.
