QR Code Generator with Colors

Type a link or any text, set the colors and error correction, and download the QR code as a PNG.

Runs in your browser — files never leave this device.

QR Code Generator

Generate custom QR codes with colors and error correction levels.

How to use

  1. Enter the text or URL you want to encode in the content field.
  2. Pick the foreground and background colors, and choose an error correction level from L, M, Q or H.
  3. Check the live preview and click Download PNG.

The QR code updates as you type. Enter a web address, plain text or any other short string and the code is redrawn each time. You can set the color of the dark modules and of the background with color pickers or by typing a value. Scanners need clear contrast between the two, so use a dark color on a light background and test the code before printing.

Error correction lets a QR code still be read when part of it is damaged or covered. The four levels, from lowest to highest, are L, M, Q and H, and the default is M. Higher levels add more redundancy, which makes the pattern denser for the same content.

The preview is generated at 300 pixels wide with a margin of 2 modules around the code, and the download is saved as qrcode.png. Keep in mind that the PNG is only 300 pixels wide when you plan a large print.

Generation is done in your browser with a QR code library, and the text you enter is not sent to a server.

FAQ

What can I put in a QR code?

Any text, including a URL. Longer text produces a denser code that is harder to scan at small sizes.

Which error correction level should I pick?

M is the default. Choose a higher level, Q or H, if the code may get scuffed or if you plan to place something over part of it.

Can I change the colors?

Yes. Set the foreground and background colors. Keep strong contrast so phones can read it.

What file do I get?

A PNG named qrcode.png, rendered at 300 pixels wide.

Is the content stored or uploaded?

No. The code is generated in your browser.
